Broadband - Going Underground, Broadband Through Sewers

You know what it's like, another day, another commute to work, another set of roadworks somewhere along the way. Chances are they're probably working on the telecoms cables beneath the surface.

However, the idea of running a fibre-optic network beneath the surface could soon come into practice.

Fibre-optic cables transmit data using light pulses down glass or plastic fibres - which are not prone to outside interference, and could therefore help deliver ultra-fast broadband across the UK.

Such cabling networks are already being implemented in Japan, but also in some cities - such as Paris - making use of vast sewer systems in order to deliver high-speed broadband connections through fibre-optic cabling to homes and businesses.

With a sewer network of over 360,000 miles existing in the UK, the idea of threading cables through underground pipes in order to help deliver high-speed broadband services may sound far-fetched, but it could soon become a reality.

A networking firm in Wales are currently in talks with several councils about the possibility of laying fibre-optic cables - which could potentially lead to faster broadband services becoming available, whilst eliminating the need to spend time and money digging up the roads.

Universities in Aberdeen, Bournemouth and Bath have been used to trial such methods of cabling on a small scale. However the firm have been negotiating with councils and water boards to try and strike a deal which could see fibre-optic cabling being laid over wider areas.

Cables would lie up to five metres below the surface, and as fibre optic cabling is believed to be less prone to erosion and rust, it could prove to be the next phase in delivering ultra-fast broadband connections across the UK.

With more of us running a speed test on our broadband connection - and becoming increasingly frustrated with the results we get back, could a new system of networking help to speed up the broadband infrastructure and give businesses and gamers alike the bandwidth they've been craving for what seems like years now?

Looking for better broadband? Perform a broadband speed test and compare broadband providers to find a deal that suits you.

T1 Long Distance

What is a T1?

A T1 is a high-speed digital circuit that can be used for voice, data or both. The T1 transmits at a high speed, up to 1.544 Mbps, which is faster than many modems. The T1 consists of 24 channels and is typically used for businesses. The circuit is delivered on fiber but can sometimes come to the premise on copper wires. It is engineered to provide the proper speed and performance based on your location and proximity to the nearest telephone central office.

How does a T1 work?

A T1 is an engineered circuit that is connected specifically for your company location. It uses 3 pair of fiber for connection. The circuit comes into your premise and is terminated onto a smart jack. From there it can be extended into your telephone system.

A T1 has 24 channels that are flexible for use by everyone. When a channel is idle it is available. This makes the T1 able to be used by many people. A typical T1 can support between 50 and 100 users. The T1 is accessed by your telephone system through specific programming instructions that are written into your system. When a long distance number is dialed the telephone system will route the call over the T1.

A T1 can be used for both incoming and outgoing calls. Your main number can be routed over the T1 to allow for more simultaneous calls. DIDs (direct inward dial) numbers can be used on a T1. DIDs are direct numbers that can be associated with specific phone users on your system and act as private lines.

Who can use a T1?

T1 circuits are typically engineered for business applications only since they provide such a large amount of channels that can be used for both voice and data. While DSL connections were considered the standard connection in the 1990's, the T1 is a more reliable and faster connection, which is becoming the modern standard for businesses in the 21st century.

A T1 is an affordable solution for most small to mid-sized businesses. There are one-time installation costs to consider, however, these costs are easily made up in the substantial cost savings that you will get during the first year in service. There are many T1 providers to choose from. Some areas require the use of a CSU (customer service unit) with the T1. This provides a test point, which can be used to fix any problems if they occur.

Is a T1 reliable?

A T1 is one of the most reliable circuits you can get. The T1 is an engineered circuit, which is tested fully from point to point at installation. Problems are rare but often can be corrected remotely. T1 circuits are constantly monitored at the central office so any issues can be corrected quickly. When choosing a T1 for long distance be sure to include a service contract that will properly take care of your possible service needs.

Anime MP4 Downloads

Where to get Anime MP4 downloads so you can watch your favorite Anime and Manga series on the go? There are literally thousands of sites that offer Anime downloads, some of them even have MP4 downloads, some of them offer MP4 converters as a free bonus for their members so they can quickly convert their Anime TV series to MP4 format and transfer to a portable media device like an iPod, iPhone, PSP or Zune. So how do you pick the best one so you won't waste money and get disappointed?

That's a really good question, considering that pretty much every quality site with Anime MP4 downloads will charge a membership fee and let me tell you why they are doing this. You see, to host a huge amount of files they have to rent multiple servers which cost up to $300 per every month. So in order to satisfy their members they have to 'pay the rent' to deliver high quality Anime and Manga downloads. However, not all paid Anime web site deliver true quality you expect, so I decided to find out which services are really worth joining and which offer Anime MP4 downloads.

What I did is joined a few paid Anime web sites and used them for a week and believe me I was pretty much disappointed with them as they didn't have as much as I expected, but there was one web site that I really loved, since it had pretty much the largest collection of Anime downloads and also lots of Anime MP4 downloads. I really think that if you want to download unlimited Anime and Manga TV series and movies then this is the only site you should go with.

It's the most amazing Anime site ever, with thousands of TV series, movies, wallpapers, even Anime soundtracks. I did not get disappointed by this web site and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for high quality Anime MP4 downloads and more.

What is ADSL?

ADSL is a relatively new technology that stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. ADSL is more commonly known as just DSL. It can provide a very fast transmission of video and voice to homes over ordinary copper telephone wires. It requires a special DSL modem to function.

ADSL modems transmit faster than conventional modems. They are generally designed to be the most cost-effective way to provide high-speed Internet access to areas with low market penetration of high-speed cable Internet access. Thus, it is its primary competition.

Differences between DLS types

Unlike other forms of DSL, ADSL has an asymmetric high-speed data flow, meaning that it can process data flow at high speeds in only one direction. Providers market ADSL as a way to access the Internet and download at very fast speeds without needing to run servers that would require bandwidth in the other direction.

Technical Statistics

While a conventional dial-up modem can only download up to 56 kbps per second, the ADSL modem can download at the rate of 256 kbps and can typically go as fast as eight mbps. While the download speeds are very high, the upload speed of the ADSL is comparable to dial-up modems. The ADSL starting upload speed is around 64 kbps and can typically go as fast as 256 kbps. Your upload and download speeds will depend on your distance from the provider?s central office or remote terminal.

The ADSL is relatively slower than today?s cable modem when it comes to both download and upload speeds. However, cable modem connection is sometimes limited to certain areas and not available in smaller markets. In these places, if people want to have high speed Internet they have no choice but to use ADSL. Typically, you can get more information on ADSL and ADSL servers online.

ADSL provides detailed information on ADSL, ADSL Modems, ADSL Web Hosting, ADSL Routers and more. ADSL is affiliated with DSL Service.
